About Mayank Baranwal
I'm a Software Engineer in Citadel's Electronic Trade Engineering team. I work closely with credit desks and build trading workflows to allow the business to access a variety of liquidity pools across the fragmented credit landscape.My core interest is systems, with a particular focus towards distributed systems, databases, low-latency systems, computer architecture and SysML. My interest in these domains has been largely shaped by the coursework and research I have undertaken with Prof. Andy Pavlo during my time at CMU. I have contributed to open-source projects like DuckDB (see project on UDF inlining), built database systems from top to bottom (BusTub) and implemented distributed consensus protocols like Raft.Additionally, I am interested in machine learning, having worked in the domain of SysML as a Research Fellow at Microsoft Research Labs India. Prior to this, I did my undergrad at IIT Guwahati with a major in Computer Science and Engineering.
