About Mayanka Naicker

I hold a Master of Science (Cum Laude) in Medical Biochemistry, along with an Honours degree in the same field and a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Genetics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. I’ve always been passionate about understanding how things work at a molecular level, and that curiosity has shaped both my academic and professional journey. I’ve gained hands-on experience in research and clinical lab settings through roles at CAPRISA and the HIV Pathogenesis Programme. My work has included tissue culture, molecular techniques, quality control, regulatory compliance (GLP, GCP, CAPA), and training others in regulatory and lab protocols. I’m confident working with complex data, strict regulatory standards, and tight timelines, and I genuinely enjoy contributing to work that improves health outcomes. I’m also deeply passionate about ensuring equitable access to health and wellness for all. I believe science and healthcare should benefit every community, and I’m committed to being part of research and innovation that supports meaningful, inclusive progress. Currently, I’m looking to grow into roles in clinical research, pharmaceuticals, or R&D where I can continue learning, take on new challenges, and contribute in a meaningful way. I’m especially interested in how innovation and digital tools are transforming healthcare and scientific research. I’m open to opportunities both in South Africa and internationally.
