Background

About Mayara Novais

My professional interests, expertise and experiences are related to the area of Culture and Communication. From Language and Literature, I acquired knowledge on linguistics, discourse, speech and I was able to learn about different cultures and their ways of expressing linguistically and artistically. The Master on Hispanic Cultural Heritage taught me more about the Hispanic Culture and its legacy to the world, but also about documentation, historical sources and otherness (which was an important subject for my master's dissertation). Besides these studies, I also have done courses in the area of Communication and Events and have developed more skills through volunteer experience and self study. For my professional experience, my first job was as a teacher when I was 18 and after that I occupied different roles which led me at some point to work directly with Communication and Marketing (Content and Inbound Marketing) and then Client Relationship (Sales, Support and Customer Success). Currently, I work as Community Associate, being responsible for operational tasks, management of small accounts, support for the account managers and for building a community through daily interaction and hosting events. I am interested in opportunities related to community building, client relationship, organizational culture, people and culture or events.
