About Mburu John

Mr. John Mburu has over 20 years of work experience in various accounting and finance fields. He has vast experience and hands-on experience in administration, general accountancy, audit coordination, program accounting, management accountancy (especially the grants and contracts management), project accounting and finance management including becoming the finance director as part of his vast and wealthy portfolio. He is a holder of an executive MBA-High Performance Leadership from the Cornel University where he attained the honors. In addition, he holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting, degree from Daystar and he holds a CPA (K) in which he attained his Certified Public Accountancy qualifications from the Strathmore University School of Accountancy. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and in good standing. Additionally, Mr. John has been keen in personal capacity development where he has trained in various courses and competencies. He is therefore competent, qualified and trained various aspects including computer proficiency in ERPs such as QuickBooks, Team Building Management, Principles of Taxation, Grants Management, International Donors Rules and Regulations and he is a competent driver with a valid driving license. Mr. Mburu has worked with several organizational entities, notably the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) including International Justice Mission, Engender Health, Care Somalia /South Sudan, Catholic University, Catholic Archdiocese of Nairobi Self Help Programme, Redhill Place Treatment Centre, Heritage Hotels Limited and Family Finance Building Society. In all these workplaces, he has grown up the rank and file in both skill and responsibilities to senior management levels. This in turn has enhanced his leadership, administrative and management capabilities. As a result, he has become very proficient in implementation and execution through teams and systems in areas touching Administration, Finance and Accounting Management. His career objective is to widen his knowledge and develop his mind to meeting the demands of the increasingly dynamic work environment and contribute to sustainable financial management, prudence and development of sound accounting systems, controls and establishment of best accounting practices in all organizational activities. He is therefore more apt in managing change both with and through people and systems.
