About McKenna Witt

As a full-time, masters student life can be busy, but I enjoy the challenge of managing work, school, and a personal life. I feel that I bring an organized but fun and light energy to workspaces with a plethora of experience working with a large variety of people. I spent my youth working with horses this time taught me dedication, hard work, patience, and discipline. After spending fifteen years as a student the opportunity to teach others was presented and I became an employee. While teaching, I discovered my passion was working with others to help them achieve their goals. I worked with individuals as young as five years old and others into the mid to late sixties. As I progressed through my schooling, I began working other jobs to gain experience. These jobs included counter help at a local deli, becoming an avid dog and house sitter, working at Oakland University's ABA Autism Clinic, and finding a new passion in working within senior living as a concierge while also helping with administrative work. In my time as a master's level student, I have also completed a one semester practicum experience in the Oakland University Counseling Center, and a one semester internship at the GLIO Counseling Group in Oxford. I truly believe that these opportunities have helped me develop incredible people skills and an incredible amount of patience. Juggling school and often times multiple jobs at the same time ensured I was disciplined and able to manage my time while working hard to achieve my goals. These skill sets have attributed to my ability to empathize with others and work hard with them to achieve their goals. I believe that people have unlimited potential and can do anything they set their minds to. My ultimate goal as a Mental Health Counselor is to help people believe in themselves the way I believe in them.
