I am an emerging business professional growing my skills, network, and career in the thriving and beautiful city of Austin, TX. Growing up in the suburbs of Pflugerville, Austin always seemed like a big-city dream, just far enough out of reach. I soak up every day I get to live and work here. I've always had a knack for people. My childhood nicknames were "Gabby Gab-a-lot"(by my grandfather for too much talking) and "The Pied Piper"(by my stepfather because I always had a trail of people following me around). I spent the first part of my academic career studying sociology, and I fell in love with it. The intricacies of why people are the way they are have always fascinated me. I have great respect for humanity and diverse cultures, and I believe this has formed me into a kind and understanding person. Working in cooperation within a diverse group fosters innovation, creativity, and growth. How does my interest in people manifest in a career? Human Resources. Humans are the most viable asset to any company, and if we are able to manage them in an effective way, we can accomplish impossible goals. HR plays a crucial role in driving forth an organization’s mission by strategically aligning its functions in conjunction with the business strategy. I am a people-person who enjoys collaboration, feedback, and knowledge-sharing. As a young professional, I am committed to learning from those who have experience in my field. I am a natural leader and enjoy navigating a new or unfamiliar assignment. I am encouraging and supportive in moments when my colleagues are stressed, and I am a team player who will take on an unprecedented role when needed to complete a task or project. I like to plan my work, as I believe that planning and strategy are the best methods to accomplish a project. I am open to hearing feedback on my work and desire to produce quality in everything I do. I am creative and a visionary which helps me generate innovative ideas and execute them.
