About McKenzie Smith

I went to high school at Adairsville High School, where I graduated in 2020. While in high school, I did dual enrollment to get ahead in college through Chattahoochee Technical College. With dual enrollment, I completed a healthcare pathway through high school. In this pathway, I obtained my certifications for Phlebotomy and as an EKG technician. During my senior year, I interned at Cartersville Medical Center from October 2021 to March 2020. This is where my love for healthcare grew stronger. I would have continued my journey in healthcare at Cartersville Medical until I graduated, but the COVID-19 pandemic hit. With the pandemic pushing back graduation, I graduated in August instead of May that year. I graduated in the Top Ten of my class. I started at Kennesaw State two weeks after graduation as a nursing major. I started working at an assisted living facility in 2021 until I got my current job at AdventHealth Gordon as a phlebotomist. I began the nursing program at Kennesaw State in August 2022 and I am set to graduate in Summer of 2024.
