About Meagan Meyer

I am a MSW student at Missouri State University. I am wrapping up my first year of this program, and I anticipate graduating in May 2024. My previous work experience consists of service at various social agencies in the Southwest Missouri and Northwest Arkansas areas. I have most recently worked as an adult care coordinator for the Clark Community Mental Health Center. This position was exciting for me as I had the privilege of collaborating with multiple agencies in the Southwest Missouri area. I connected clients to specialty medical care, therapy services, primary care physicians, hospital services, medication services, and other resources in the area. My goal was always to help clients achieve their goals. My primary career interests are focused on child welfare. I served as a Family Service Worker for nearly five years at the Arkansas Department of Human Services - Division of Children and Family Services. My career goals include pursuing a clinical social work license while working with children and families involved with child welfare services or preventative services. I am a strong proponent for reunification and abuse/neglect prevention, and I believe counseling and therapeutic services are key to rebuilding strong and healthy families. In both my career and my personal life, I strive to maintain a trauma-informed viewpoint, and I hope to one day help families overcome the various forms of trauma they encounter while navigating the child welfare system.
