About Meaghan Visscher

I have worked on a busy, inner-city acute care medicine unit since 2013. During my employment, I have had many opportunities to showcase my skilled leadership and collaboration as I performed roles in the introduction of CoACT, quality council, and as Super User during the roll out of the Epic system in Alberta. I have been a preceptor to numerous licensed practical nursing students, as well as provided guidance to new hires, and internationally trained nurses entering the workforce. I am extremely technical in skill, and have been a resource to many since the introduction of Connect Care, and I am quickly comfortable with new equipment. I am certified in cardiac monitoring, and ultrasound guided intravenous insertions. I have experience working with dynamic populations of patients including palliative, geriatric, mental health, addictions, mothers, and infants. I have a keen interest in the determinants of health, and family- and patient-centred care, and I have focused my university studies on these topics. As of December 2024, I have completed my education and have obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
