About Mechteld Schoemaker

Creativity. It began when I was just a little curly haired ball of energy – always wanting to create new things, whether that was crafting bunny ears from paper, building intricate toy car tracks, or fabricating an entire imaginary world and acting as a character in it. I've come to realize it's not so much as the creating itself, it's the creative thinking behind it, that I love. Creative problem-solving. It is assimilating new knowledge, theories, skills, insights, and applying these immediately. Need a way to wear the bunny ears? Why don't we make a hat out of them? It's this kind of thinking that drives me at work. I love new ideas, but let's think about the realistic application. Have we thought this through? What does the data say? How can we improve the process? I adore working on intricate projects with a number of stakeholders where it's almost like you're solving a puzzle. How can we ensure everyone is on the same page? What are the parameters we need to take into account? Who is our target audience, and what are their interests? And to all these questions, creative thinking is applied. Grateful for having been the project lead or at least a key player for interesting clients at Edelman, ranging from digital marketing to integrated work, to just content. Now at Saxum, I am going on interim assignments within the field of digital marketing and content. Additionally, I can promise you- I help coworkers thrive by assigning them the work THEY want - I can divide my attention between a million things while maintaining overview, quality, deadlines - I’m always authentic – and a little strange at that. No-nonsense approach- Ridiculously passionate. No seriously, ask me about my favorite projects I have affinity with marketing, communications, branding, entertainment, advertising, graphic design, content, social media, and photography. I am most at home in strategic (digital) marketing environments.
