About Mees Uis

MEES is the student line association for the master's program in Energy, Environment and Society at the University of Stavanger. The Master's program focuses on the challenges associated with the realization of the Paris Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with a special emphasis on energy. Energy transition is one of the main focuses since energy systems across the globe are transitioning - or about to transition - towards lower carbon and more sustainable energy configurations. Our students have different academic backgrounds, as well as different nationalities, with 30 spots for local students, and 15 spots for international students. While the Master program is multidisciplinary in its approach, it provides room to specialize, through the selection of electives and by studying abroad at one of our partner institutions. As a student association we mainly have three purposes: 1. To be a link for collaboration between MEES students and the faculty. To collaborate with other student organizations at UiS, as well as businesses and startups. To explore future energy alternatives and sustainable development. We arrange both academic events and social events for students. Our primary focus is on academic events, such as conferences, panels, debates, case studies, lectures etc. We are always looking out for the possibility of connecting with more people, expanding our network, possible collaborations, events etc. Don't hesitate to send us a message if you have any questions.
