I believe in the inherent dignity and equal rights of all. I think our world functions a little better when we frame and order our priorities recognising our impact on others. We are interdependent – increasingly so – our industries, sectors, communities and geographies drive us into one another. The decisions you make (or don’t) in the board room, in the party room, in the community hall, on site, in the field – they can and will impact those around you. Do you understand how? I am a Partner with KPMG Banarra - our Australian human rights and social impact team. I lead our human rights services, applying my deep expertise to help clients to understand, assess, address and report on their human rights risks and impact. I have worked across the legal, government and community sectors and I understand the different perspectives stakeholders bring to the table. My PhD (Law) examines transformative change – how can we collaborate to address systemic human rights violations and entrenched practices and cultures which cause harm? The case for change has been made: human rights are legal, ethical and moral standards which improve lives, measurably enhance productivity, secure freedom, and fundamentally define our engagement with one another.
