About Meg Brodtmann Mw

I am a winemaker with experience encompassing winemaking techniques from some of the world’s top wineries and spanning more than twenty years across three continents. I began my winemaking career in Australia before working in Europe and South America as a winemaking consultant for Cellarworld International in the UK. I moved to Chile in 2001 and spent the next 8 years working as a senior winemaker, broker, educator and wine industry consultant. In conjunction with The Wine School, I created the first approved programme provider for The Wine and Spirit Education Trust in Latin America.In 2002, I became Australia’s first female Master of Wine and have been actively involved in the Master of Wine educational programme as the examiner, then Panel Chair, for Paper 2 of the Masters of Wine examination. I returned to Australia in 2008 and established Southern Cross Wines (Australia). Since then I have worked with a range of clients, establishing wine styles and guiding wineries in their strategic business decisions. I teach WSET Levels 2 to 4 as well as judging or chairing at domestic and international wine shows. I am the co-host, with Mel Gilchrist, of the successful podcast ‘Wine with Meg + Mel” which was the winner in the 2022 Wine Communicators of Australia ‘Best Blog or Podcast’ and currently ranks between #1 and #4 best wine podcast in Australia.I am currently the Brand Business Manager for Rob Dolan Wines, based in my beloved Yarra Valley.
