About Meg MacCherone

As the MPH Practicum Partnerships Coordinator at UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, I specialize in building meaningful connections between public health organizations and our Master of Public Health students. My work focuses on identifying practicum opportunities that allow students to apply their public health skills in real-world settings, making tangible impacts on communities. Previously, as the Assistant Director for Work-Study at UNC Chapel Hill’s financial aid office, I facilitated partnerships between local non-profits and undergraduate work-study students. Bridging academic experiences and financial need with community engagement. I am passionate about public health communication and the power of partnerships to drive change. Inspired by Dr. Katelyn Jetelina’s perspectives on public health science communication, I believe that effective communication and strong networks are key to fostering innovation in public health.
