About Meg Waller

I am a Senior in the Honors College at CofC and I am pursuing a BA in biology with Spanish and psychology minors. I hope to continue my education post-grad as a nursing student. I currently work as an undergraduate research assistant at the Medical University of SC and at the CofC sailing center as an instructor and dockhand. I am also a student-athlete on the CofC varsity sailing team. Through these roles, I have learned many useful skills. These include time management and independence, flexibility, and responsibility for others in a fast-paced environment, which I will utilize in my future career. Through both the relevant coursework I have taken at CofC (such as anatomy) and working in the lab, I have become passionate about the intersection between basic science and medicine. I have maintained a 3.85 GPA and have been recognized on the President's List (criteria include: enrollment in >14 credits with a 3.8 GPA or higher) for 5 out of my 6 semesters. I am also the first author of a soon-to-be-published paper with the Engevik lab in the Journal of Food and Function which I’m very excited about!
