The first tangible form of love is food.” — José AndrésI am a nonprofit executive and emergency management professional who leads at the intersection of strategy, dignity, and systems change.For the past six years, I have served as Executive Director of Broken Arrow Neighbors, a comprehensive emergency basic needs agency supporting thousands of individuals annually with food access, housing stability, and crisis intervention. I oversee daily operations, strategic planning, revenue development, and cross-sector partnerships for a $1M+ organization.Under my leadership, we have expanded core programs, strengthened donor engagement, increased operational capacity, and launched innovative community campaigns centered on dignity and long-term stability, including Joy for your Neighbors holiday programs and Cali’s Cart, for our neighbors in need, even those with 4-paws!I believe compassion should be operational, not optional, and I build teams and systems that reflect that belief.My professional foundation includes more than a decade in emergency management and public safety, leading healthcare preparedness initiatives, safety compliance programs, and disaster response operations. That experience shapes how I lead today: with systems awareness, calm crisis navigation, and a trauma-informed lens.I also believe lived experience is leadership. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes before age three, I have spent my life navigating complex systems and advocating for better ones. Advocacy is not separate from my work, it informs how I build policy conversations, mentor leaders, and design community solutions.Beyond my executive role, I serve on regional leadership boards with the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Eastern Oklahoma Chapter and contribute to cross-sector collaboration through Rotary Club of Broken Arrow and Association of Women in Communications - Tulsa.
