About Megan Foster

Hi! My name is Megan Foster(she/her) and I’m a fifth year Materials Science & Engineering + Co-op student at McMaster University, who recently finished a 16 month co-op as a Systems Engineering Intern. I contributed to the integration of underwater sensor systems on the River-class destroyer project, Canada’s largest shipbuilding initiative since WW2, with the goal of delivering a single class of ship that’s able to bolster Canada’s naval capabilities. Last year I had the privilege of participating in an exchange at the University of Grenoble-Alpes PHELMA in Grenoble, France where I got to study at the leading materials science institute in France under the guidance of passionate and groundbreaking researchers. In addition to my studies I have honed my leadership and collaboration skills as a McMaster Engineering Ambassador, and a varsity athlete and captain on the McMaster Fencing Team. I aim to give back to my program through my role as the VP of Engagement on the Materials Science and Engineering society. I have a passion for pioneering technologies that revolutionize human movement, and am excited to pursue this passion in current and future roles.
