About Megan Simons
I'm a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Memphis where my current research focuses on the implementation of a multi-reference density functional theory (DFT) method and modeling excited-state dynamics using non-adiabatic trajectory surface hopping methods. Previously at Southern Methodist University, I developed and measured new methods for core-hole spectroscopy for various small molecules, advancing the precision of coupled-cluster calculations and closing the gap between theoretical and experimental results. I have also implemented a tensor hypercontraction open-shell code using MP2/MP3 methods for various realistic systems. I have expertise in quantum and computational chemistry software. The new coupled-cluster methods, TP-CC and STEOM-CCSD+cT, have been incorporated into the CFOUR software suite.
