About Megan Slade

Growing up I have always been surrounded by people who were involved and passionate about community and wellness. My parents were highly involved in minor sports, volunteering, coaching, refereeing, and encouraging me in my athletic pursuits. During my high school years, I began to emulate my role models, and became involved in refereeing minor hockey and soccer, while still playing myself. As I have grown and developed in my professional career the same values and skills that I developed as a young athlete are still at the core of the person I am today. Playing team sports, has taught the fundamentals of building relationships, gaining trust, and creating an environment that breads success for others. I enjoy motivating others and take pride in being a role model. As a young female hockey referee, I have been in many stressful and intimidating situations. I have curated the skills needed to handle the expectations of others and refocus the needs and priorities in the present time. These stressful and challenging times in my career, have been the most valuable to my growth, aiding me to become a better version of myself.
