About Megan Smith

I’m a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Tarleton State University with high academic standing and a strong foundation in both design and hands-on fieldwork. My background spans oilfield environmental practices, natural gas plant operations, and project coordination—giving me a well-rounded, adaptable edge in diverse engineering environments. Currently, I’m working at Xcel Automation as a Mechanical EIT Project Coordinator, where I support engineering projects from concept to execution, collaborating across teams to deliver smart, reliable solutions in industrial automation. Previously, I contributed to the full design and build of an off-road vehicle for the SAE Baja competition, sharpening my skills in drivetrain analysis, manufacturing processes, and automotive systems. I’m a fast learner with a strong work ethic, passionate about solving real-world challenges with practical and innovative engineering approaches. Outside of work, I stay grounded through community involvement—volunteering with the Rotary Club and High School Rodeo Club—and I competed on scholarship as a member of the Tarleton College Rodeo Team.
