About Megan Thomas

Legal professional with expertise in national security, international law, and cybersecurity law. Currently pursuing M.S. in Cybersecurity and Risk Management (Expected May 2026) and recently completed LL.M. in National Security Law with Distinction (May 2025). As a former Judge Advocate General Corps officer and Lead Prosecutor with the U.S. Air Force, I prosecuted criminal cases involving cyber crimes, narcotics, and sexual assault while serving as a emergency operations advisor during critical operations worldwide. My experience includes policy writing during COVID operations and OAW, MLAT drafting and negotiations, digital evidence proffers and cybercrimes advisory work, and domestic operations. Recently served as a Veterans Appellate Attorney, supervising 40+ complex federal cases involving in benefits and achieving 100% success rate in Federal Circuit appeals. I was also an Editor for the Journal for National Security & Policy and Fellow in the Responsible AI Network Fellowship, with published research on AI-driven technology challenges and autonomous weapons systems. Currently, I am a national security advisor providing legal advice to the field in all things counterintelligence and counterterrorism with an emphasis on advising the DOJ on federal litigation involving national security matters where DHS is a partner in the underlying investigation or operation.
