About Meghan Lechner

Professional Journey -An educator to my core, I have gravitated towards opportunities that have allowed me to teach, present, and share a spirit of curiosity. These opportunities have led me down paths of higher education, outdoor education/exploration, and the private/non-profit world-A majority of my professional experience has come during my time in Higher Education’s Student Development world. Through this work I have been able to hone my teaching and supervisory styles while preparing growing adults for the workforce. I have created curriculum, developed equitable hiring processes, and served in crisis management roles-My passion for this work comes from watching genuine learning happen. In every professional role I have had (first job as a ski instructor to today) I have served in a teaching/educating capacity. I take great pride in my passion for observing learners, helping them define their goals, and then creating plans to help get them there. My time in Higher Education has served as an incredible launching pad for future endeavors in the private sector. Personal Journey -I am an adventurer! I have a life goal of hiking in each American National Park – 23 Down! A Northeast Ohio native, you can usually find me at our local Cuyahoga Valley National Park on the Ledges Trail or in my kayak on the Cuyahoga River-I have a pup (English Springer Spaniel) named Reba. She is an excellent hiking buddy and a goofy but very loyal companion-I am a DIEHARD Cleveland Guardians (baseball) fan! I have loved this team my entire life and hope one day to see them bring home a World Series win! I have shed more tears (happy and sad) at Progressive Field than likely any other place in the world-I am an avid non-fiction reader. Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer changed my life. I love hearing people’s stories and investigating what has made their path so unique.
