About Meghan Murphy

Class of 2024 Schwarzman Scholar and Master's student at Tsinghua University. Graduate of Brown University summa cum laude with a major in International Relations, with a specific focus on Security and Society in the Indo-Pacific and the Middle East. Professional experience in government as a Political and Economic Affairs intern at the Department of State and two Congressional internships. Southeast Asia research at major DC think tanks, including the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the East-West Center, and the Brookings Institution. At Brown University, served as Chief Operating Officer for Brown's premier student-run political magazine, the Brown Political Review; Managing Editor for the Brown Journal of World Affairs; and foreign policy columnist at the Brown Daily Herald. Passionate about tutoring refugee youth as a Coordinator for Brown's Refugee Tutoring & Enrichment organization and mentoring incoming first years as a Meiklejohn. Interested in foreign policy, Southeast Asian politics, public service, and refugee rights.
