Background
About Meghan Rubinstein
Most of my career has been spent in the field of conservation education, whether working with students and teachers locally or traveling to far off places to work within communities, determining the barriers to conservation. Internationally I partner with field conservationists, doing needs assessment and creating programming to benefit wildlife and wild places. A large component of the programs that I create includes capacity building, so that local people become responsible for protecting their environment. I have helped create NGO's, developed education programming, launched public/social awareness campaigns, and facilitated alternative sources of income for local people. With a degree in non-profit management, my specialties are program development, monitoring and evaluation, strategic planning, and fundraising. I strongly believe that to conserve the environment, you have to help people first.
