About Meher Thandi

As a Home Room Teacher at Heritage International Xperiential School (HIXS Gurgaon), I am passionate about creating a holistic learning environment for young students. I have over two years of experience in teaching Literacy (Hindi and English), Numeracy, and Unit of Enquiry in the Primary Years Program (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate (IB). I also bring the Social Emotional and Mindfulness (SEM) aspect into the children's day-to-day life, using the CASEL framework and the Cognitively-Based Compassion Training (CBCT®) certification that I am currently pursuing from Emory University. I am proud to be a part of the team that helped HIXS Gurgaon achieve the IB PYP authorization in 2021, demonstrating our commitment to inquiry-based and student-centered education. I am also skilled in virtual teaching and having completed Making the PYP happen: Implementing agency Category 1. I have also supported the main teacher in the online class at Playful Minds. Additionally, I have a strong background in hospitality administration and management, having obtained a bachelor's degree from Edinburgh Napier University and a diploma from EHL Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality. I speak three languages fluently (Punjabi, Hindi, and English) and I can give instructions in any of them.
