About Mehrafarin Shetabi

Currently serving as Attachée Temporaire d’Enseignement et de Recherche (ATER) at the University of Limoges, where I defended my Ph.D. in Economics in January 2025. My academic background also includes a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA), equipping me with an interdisciplinary foundation spanning economics, finance, and strategic management. I am qualified for the position of Maîtresse de Conférences in Economic Sciences (CNU Section 05). My research lies at the intersection of banking transparency, financial analyst behavior, and credit risk, with applications in both traditional banking systems and emerging FinTech models. It addresses several key challenges: – The dual role of financial analysts as both enhancers of transparency and contributors to market volatility – The influence of analyst characteristics and incentives on forecast accuracy across global banking markets – The impact of opacity on systemic risk and the effectiveness of market discipline, using comparative evidence from the US and Europe – The development of interpretable and dynamic credit risk assessment tools using evolutionary algorithms, explainable AI (XAI), and machine learning techniques Methodologically, I apply advanced empirical strategies combining econometrics, AI-driven modeling, and complex data environments (including unstructured and textual data). One of my research articles has been published in a peer-reviewed journal (*Annals of Operations Research*, HCERES A), and others are currently under review. Prior to academia, I accumulated over 14 years of international corporate experience. From 2011 to 2018, I served as Senior Manager at LG Electronics, contributing to strategic planning, direct marketing, CRM, business intelligence, and procurement operations across the company’s global headquarters in South Korea and its Middle East & Africa regional office (LGEMEA).
