About Mehul Kumar

I am a graduate student of the Department of Industrial Engineering enrolled in its Dual Degree course at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. After working for a while as a financial analyst for a startup I became interested in how machines learn and the curiosity guided me to take a break and learn more about it. So I started by learning the workings of the neural networks and proceeded on to learning Hyperparameters Convolution neural nets (CNNs) and then to sequence models like RNN LSTMs Transformers BERT. I also participated in the Kaggle Google Competition: Real or Not? NLP with Disaster Tweets. The task was to predict which tweets have the content of the disasters. I won the competition-winning $2000 above 3000 teams that participated in the competition I am currently working on another project to learn about the object segmentation task which will detect different kinds of steel defects. It is quite exciting to see how these algorithms learn to perform a task and I am just beginning to learn. I have been grateful to Andrew Ng's teachings on Deep Learning that gave me the ground to build understanding. I am seeking industry experience in Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence to gain deeper understanding in solving real-life problems My objectives are to seek challenging assignments in this field of interest and responsibility with an opportunity for growth and career advancement as successful achievements.
