About Mehul Patel

A creative mechanical engineer from India, specialising in mechanical product design and additive manufacturing. I recently completed my second postgraduate degree, a Master of Engineering Studies (First Class Honours) from the University of Auckland, with a strong focus on Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) and product development. My professional journey includes experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer and Assistant Professor. To align my career with my passion for both art and engineering, I chose to pursue further studies at the University of Auckland. I believe 3D printing represents a unique intersection where creativity meets engineering. Along this path, I’ve gained hands-on experience with Mechanical Design and analysis software such as SOLIDWORKS, Creo, nTop, ABAQUS, and have been involved in various product development projects. As a result, I have deepened my understanding of design methodologies, from Design Thinking to advanced simulation and analysis. I’m now actively seeking opportunities where I can contribute to innovative design and AM-focused development projects.
