About Meint Joustra

In 1993 I started as senior engineer in the Professional Mobile Radio area. I participated in the start-up and realisation of the Dutch nationwide MPT1327 network and gradually broadened the field of activity to generic business radio solutions including in-house coverage systems and maritime RF communications. In 1998 I joined TetraNed to take the position of Senior Technical Architect. In this capacity I took the end-responsibility for the technical aspects, feasibility and quality of the Dutch radio network for public safety and the radio dispatch control rooms. After the successful delivery of the network, I reverted to the design and implementation of commercial TETRA implementations, such as the TETRA network for Amsterdam airport Schiphol. In these projects I again found myself in the role of chief architect and as such end responsible for the technical design, implementation and supervision of the technical team. In 2007 I have switched from TETRA system integration to the field of TETRA system sales and product management at Rohill in the capacity of Product Director. At the manufacturer’s side of the table I strived to bridge the natural gap between technical development and sales, resulting in a TETRA portfolio and proposition the market requires. In 2010 I have returned to PMR system integration at KPN and am active again in the field of PMR business consultancy at KPN Business Mobile Solutions. My main areas of interest are TETRA-based and other digital trunking solutions as well as the appliance of LTE broadband data in the mission- or business- critical domain.
