About Mejay Gula

Mejay Gula is an Architect and Senior Project Manager at site design group, ltd. with 20 years of experience in architecture and urban design. She advocates for collaborative environments that foster thriving communities, believing that design rooted in trust and active listening is essential to realizing client visions that cultivate place and belonging. She has led a diverse range of projects in landscape architecture, urban design, and planning, including recent award-winning projects such as Indianapolis' Haughville Riverfront Vision Plan and the University of Chicago's Arts Lawn. She is also the founder of Tender House Project, a collaborative initiative with local organizations aimed at activating Chicago's underutilized bridgehouses. Her partnerships work to transform bridgehouses into a vibrant civic and cultural network, breathing new life into the Chicago River and its surrounding areas. Founded in 1990, site design group, ltd.(site) is a nationally award-winning landscape architecture, urban design, and architecture firm based in Chicago, Illinois. As landscape architects, urban designers, planners, arborists, architects, and creative thinkers, they are a staff of 56 diverse and innovative professionals. They are enlivened by their surroundings and strive to produce creative spaces that inspire, restore, and bring communities together.
