About Mel Goux
Prior to joining Georgia Tech in 2013, I served as Vice President and Creative Director of Television by Design, an award winning Atlanta based design and consulting firm founded in 1983. Leading a team of 15, I designed and produced broadcast identities for more than 100 television stations and networks throughout North America. I was at the forefront of the emerging field of motion graphic design and was among the first producers of digital animation, video and computer graphics. To help establish and expand the field, together with colleagues at TVbD, I worked with companies such as: Ampex, Adobe, Sony, Quantel and Chyron to develop better digital tools for designers. I am an Adobe Video Master, having logged more than hours in Adobe AfterEffects, and co-author of the 2003 book "On Screen, In Time: Transitions in Motion Graphic Design."
