About Melanie Dejong

I graduated with honours from the Laurentian University BScN program in December 2014 and began a new grad position in the Emergency Room at Winchester District Memorial Hospital in March 2015. An unfortunate hiking accident in 2018 resulted in some new education and other nursing opportunities and I joined the WDMH Hemodialysis team in a part-time role. In May 2024 I obtained my Nephrology nursing designation through the CNA (Canadian Nurses Association) and in July 2024, I accepted the Full time role of Team Leader within the unit. I am passionate about mentoring fellow nurses, building a strong team and delivering high quality and safe patient care. I also am a clinical instructor for St Lawrence College for 1st year BScN students and I also am a faculty advisor for 4th year students! I love to teach!
