About Melanie Harper

Melanie started the “Driving Miss Daisy” business in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand in 2008 after driving an elderly relative for over 8 years. Melanie developed the idea in her local region to drive others who could not drive themselves anymore and she thought the perfect name would be Driving Miss Daisy. Using the Hawke's Bay model, Melanie was joined by her husband Jack and together they have developed franchises across New Zealand over the last 5 years. There are now 75 franchises nationwide. Driving Miss Daisy NZ Ltd offers those seeking a thriving new business venture the chance to become a Franchisee in this growth industry. Our Franchisees are rewarded with an exciting community-based business which makes a significant contribution to the wellbeing of the all. At the heart of this success is the provision of a caring, safe and reliable personal driving service, delivered by dedicated franchisees. Driving Miss Daisy literally changes the lives of their clients in many different ways; from giving peace of mind to the elderly and their families, or being available to busy parents who need to get their children safely to and from after-school activities. For outings, shopping, hairdresser, or appointments, we help people keep their independence and have fun too. Driving Miss Daisy's drivers meet clients at their door, help them into the car, drive them to any number of destinations and provide whatever help is needed before delivering them safely home.
