About Melanie Prieditis

I am a driven and enthusiastic Professional Engineer with a career as a Data Analyst and Data Scientist. I am passionate about making informed decisions based on data, advanced analytics, and facts. Throughout my four years in the technology and engineering industry, I began exploring the intersection of human opinions and data through online courses in my evenings following my workday. I realized the importance of providing analytics, metrics and KPIs to support business decisions and I’m fascinated by the potential of data, AI, and Machines working in harmony! I am actively pursuing the necessary skills and behaviours to be an expert in this field. This has been an ongoing commitment to learning and applying new skills. Through my data science and data analytics courses, I developed a deep passion for learning about artificial intelligence and numeric modelling to further enhance my engineering knowledge. I decided to dive fully into my passion and completed a Data Science diploma program. My final project involved projecting the triage level of incoming patients in hospitals based on their initial conditions: a solution that could reduce the average four hour wait time in ER waiting rooms and ultimately save lives! From there I have worked as a Data Analyst for The Toronto Star, where I continued to develop and apply advanced SQL, Python, Tableau and Big Data processing and modelling skills through industry applicable projects. I am now a Senior Digital Data Analyst at Trojan Technologies, using my passion to support real-time monitoring of UV-water filtration systems. I am very excited to support, lead, and inform key business decisions and drive AI initiatives throughout my career. l bring my distinctive skills in advanced analysis, data science & engineering, and AI predictive modelling to Trojan Technologies!
