About Melis Barnett-Alpinar

Born and Raised in one of the Textile industries capitals of the world, Melis Alpinar started her career by pursuing a BSc. in Textile Development and Marketing at Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in Istanbul, Turkey. Two years into her Bachelors program, Melis left her home and all that she knew as she ventured to New York City to finish her degree at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Besides her studies, Melis was heavily involved with club activities with school and also Interning at Lenny Turk, where she served as assistant to the CEO of the company. Melis graduated with a GPA of 3.31, and then entered the field of Textile Production and Development when she began to work at EDPA USA as a Product Developer. Fueled by her desire and creativity, Melis would later decide to pursue a certificate degree in Web and Application Design from Baruch College in New York. In addition to her experience in the textile industry, Melis has experience in the use of Adobe Suite, Typography, CSS, and HTML 5, which is greatly influenced by her passion from Fashion, Photography, Design, Architecture, and Art.
