Background
About Melisa Torres
I am currently pursuing an M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs at New York University. I work part-time at The Juilliard School as the Graduate Hall Director within the Office of Residence Life. Here I have gained supervision and management skills while providing ongoing feedback and evaluation for 11 Resident Assistants. I serve as a conduct officer and am on a weekly on-call rotation to ensure residents and RAs feel supported throughout the academic year.I graduated from Vassar College with a B.A. in Latin American and Latino/a Studies. I am committed to uplifting students from marginalized backgrounds, especially first-generation, low-income, undocumented, and/or Latine students. Through a philosophy of empathy, care, proactiveness, and accountability, I strive to develop students as leaders and realize their full potential.
