About Melissa Bell

As a senior majoring in Sociology at the University of Texas at Austin, I am passionate about understanding and addressing social issues and challenges. I am also in the process of completing a minor in Business Development from the McCombs School of Business, which will equip me with the skills and knowledge to apply sociological insights to organizational and entrepreneurial contexts.Recently, I interned at the U.S. House of Representatives, where I supported the Oversight and Accountability Committee with research and analysis on various legislation and policy topics. Previously, I interned at the Circuit of The Americas, where I assisted the Events and Hospitality team with the planning and execution of two major races, including the 2023 MotoGP and the 2023 NASCAR Race. I also interned in the office of Congressman Pete Sessions, where I attended committee hearings and drafted memos and reports. Through these experiences, I have developed strong communication, writing, and analytical skills, as well as a keen interest in public affairs and civic engagement. In addition to my academic and professional pursuits, I enjoy photography, architecture, hiking, and crossword puzzles.
