About Melissa Bittner

My overall objective is to maximize the continuance of basic human needs by treating and transporting the sick and injured. My intent is to provide the highest quality emergency care to every patient I encounter. It is my mission as a paramedic to treat every call with equal importance. Differential diagnoses are my philosophy in this field, as I investigate the patients complaint beginning with the most critical possible diagnosis. I excel in comforting and calming those in need of care as they experience life's most vulnerable moments. Informing the patient and the family members is a priority for me; controlling my scene (especially with bystanders) is an important quality I possess as a paramedic. My name is Melissa Bittner. I am a Paramedic at St. Louis Fire Dept. I received my certification and training through St. Charles County Ambulance District (SCCAD), a nationally respected program. My field experience in the emergency setting dates from Dec 2016–present. I am an Auburn University alum, where I received the 1st place ribbon on my senior thesis, as awarded collectively by all teachers in the Kinesiology Department. I attended Auburn University from August 2008 to August 2012 - majoring in the College of Education, with a BS in the Department of Kinesiology, with a focus of Exercise/Sports Science. Additional education includes a minor in the College of Liberal Arts, with a focus in Psychology.
