About Melissa Cheok

Based in Singapore, I conduct research on cross-sector thematic ESG issues, with a particular focus on fixed income markets in Asia. I regularly engage with institutional investors and corporates to advise on sustainable finance trends as well as ESG regulatory developments and how these may impact business models and financing flows. Prior to joining Fitch, I was a journalist at Bloomberg covering foreign exchange and fixed income. With a well-established track record of covering financial markets and building relationships, I have been at the heart of market-moving news that has driven the region’s transformation. Having reported on the biggest stories at the cross-section of global business, politics and society, I was also part of the founding team which launched Bloomberg’s highly successful social media video news venture QuickTake. In addition to my main role, I frequently moderate and speak on large industry panels on topics ranging from sustainable finance and debt capital markets to the future of global transport. I hold a Bachelor of Business Management with a concentration in Finance from Singapore Management University.
