About Melissa Denzer

As a current coordinator at Washington University in St. Louis, I leverage my organizational and writing expertise to help the operations of the university and create engaging material to support the university's advancement efforts. I have over three years of experience in this role, where I manage various projects, platforms, and tools, such as Salesforce, Smartsheet, WordPress, Canva, and Affinaquest software. I also have a background in nonprofits, education, and marketing, and a certification in fundraising and philanthropy, which enable me to plan and execute successful projects, events, and campaigns for the university and its stakeholders. I am passionate about working to combine my creative background with my professional one, and recently graduated with my MFA in Creative Writing from Concordia University-St. Paul, after completing my M.A in Theater and BA in English and Theater at Fontbonne University and University of Iowa, respectively. I have published academic work and editorial articles on theater, writing, and politics, and I have worked as an editor and copyeditor in previous positions. I also have experience as a teaching artist working with after school programming and artists in residency programs, such as Springboard to Learning and Stage Play Learning, where I designed and delivered curriculum and instruction for students of various ages and backgrounds. My career objective is to continue developing my writing and management skills in positions that allow me to help others and create a community impact.
