About Melissa Hanis

Melissa is a highly motivated achiever in building solid relations to reduce the stigma of Mental Health, Substance Misuse, and Suicide. Melissa has 15 years of solid work ethic in Substance Misuse, Addiction Recovery, Housing Treatment, Management, Intervention Clinical Services, and Case Management. Melissa's recent work has been facilitating as a Healthy Relationships Educator through Evidence-based curriculums. Melissa has a passion for people and is greatly intrigued by the human mind, how the brain functions, thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors that drive us as human beings. Melissa actively pursues personal fulfillment through education in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Behavioral Science. Melissa currently is a Program Manager in the Youth Wellness Division with phenomenal training and knowledge of prevention and awareness certifications. Melissa has lived beyond extensive childhood trauma into her adult years, has personal experience with addiction recovery, and lived beyond suicide attempts, lost many to suicide, substance misuse, and overdoses. Melissa now strives to educate others through awareness and shares her story to bring hope and healing as she expresses her experience of feeling chained to that negative mindset and lifestyle as she now lives free from many struggles through the maintenance of her mental health and Self-Care. Melissa is certified in Trauma-informed Primary Prevention, delivers SEL, and provides lasting change with educational services to support youth and families throughout Arizona's communities.
