About Melissa Horyn

I have the amazing privilege to support K - 12 students with intellectual disabilities to be fully included in regular classroom settings across Alberta. It gives me immense joy to help bring a families' inclusive vision for their child to light by supporting teachers in their classrooms using the latest tools and research in universal design for learning and inclusion. Teachers who work with me learn how to adapt the subjects they teach all students regardless of grade level. When visiting schools I look for opportunities to facilitate relationships between students with and without disabilities and model this to support and teaching staff. If schools or families desire more training and knowledge on inclusive education, I plan and deliver professional development opportunities as well. Through my own personal healing journey and trainings, I’ve developed a love for walking with people on their path to healing. I work with people to ground into their bodies with somatic experiencing body work, reprogram their subconscious minds with subconscious imprinting technique, realign their lives based on their value systems, and establishing healthy habits and routines. It’s a great honor to help people get to the root cause of their emotional or physical pain and release it for good. These roles along with my prior experience have given me the opportunity to develop a broad range of skills and experiences that are key for consultative, coaching and leadership in both education and mental health settings.
