About Melissa Janecka

I love leading and developing creative projects and teams, hatching new ideas, and collaborating with engineers, marketers, and various techno stars to change the way an audience perceives a product, a company or a brand. With a degree in media and communications, another in graphic design, a talent for writing, and the belief that a leader is there to bring out the best in every team member, I provide a unique viewpoint and effective results.I lead the development of award-winning branding, B2B and channel marketing programs, thought-leadership content and marketing materials. I build teams and grow people, and together we create interactive internal and external marketing campaigns utilizing multiple mediums. For fun, I take on too many garden projects including building a massive rain garden and adjacent fire pit, hauling the rocks myself (with the smashed fingers to prove it). I head up the pollinator and ornamentals team at Raab Park Children's Garden, Poulsbo, WA, as a WSU master gardener volunteer. I also work part-time at Valley Nursery helping customers choose plants and solve garden problems. When I am not geeking out on plants, I hike and bike, volunteer at Washington Trails Association, write on Medium.com and paint and collage goofy abstract faces that I sometimes remember to share on Instagram.Specialties:Team leadershipCoordination of multiple, deadline driven projects with competing priorities and resourcesCollaboration across departments and disciplines Brand evangelism, consistency and management
