About Melissa Leach

Factor Bermuda is a refined collection of sun protective and sustainable swimwear made from a luxurious Italian Lycra derived from rescued ocean plastics. A fresh perspective on swimwear, combining timeless, elevated design with skin care and sustainability. After being diagnosed with melanoma in 2007, I struggled to find key wardrobe pieces reflecting my own personal style, an elevated esthetic and adequate sun protection. I worked on the business side of Fashion for 15+ years with a number of influential British designers, most notably Burberry and Jimmy Choo. Drawing from my experience in the fashion industry and punctuated by my move to Bermuda, I decided to create a refined collection of swimwear with an elegant, minimalist style focusing on sun protection and sustainability. Inspired in Bermuda and ethically made in New York, Factor subscribes to the concepts of slow, circular fashion and timeless, seasonless style. Our capsule collection consists of strong silhouettes in classic colors designed to be worn as both swimwear and ready-to-wear, offering endless styling options and maximum wardrobe flexibility.
