About Melissa Leal

I am currently an Assistant Professor for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. Previously, I was the Simulation Director for the Louise and Clay Wood Simulation Center for Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Odessa, TX. I have been involved in simulation for over 15yrs. I am heavily involved in the Society for Simulation in Healthcare and was one of the recent Planning Team Co-Chairs for IMSH 2022 in L.A. as well as serve on the Education Committee and chair the Educational Advisory Team. I am also a member of the 2020 NLN Simulation Leader cohort. Throughout the years I have presented at many national and international simulation conferences as well as many regional conferences in nursing. Simulation is my passion and increasing patient safety while educating competent practitioners is my goal. I am also interested in research on simulation in healthcare and bullying in children. I plan to continue to study these areas while at TAMUCC.
