About Melissa Moore

I currently work for the US Census Bureau doing field research. I haven’t actually started yet and will be trading in Burbank, CA soon! Then I will do the actual work in Nevada, providing COVID-19 doesn’t interfere with my public outreach. This is not my only skill set, as I used to be licensed and practice as an RN. Held Indiana and Illinois Licensure. But I no longer practice and my Indiana license is retired, my Illinois License is on Hold. But I no longer practice Nursing because of disabilities that interfere with the activity of working as an RN. Specialties: I worked as a Registered Nurse for 23 years. I had 16 years of IMCU Telemetry experience in a hospital setting with an emphasis on cardiac care. I also had 7 years of Home Care experience with an emphasis on patient teaching for disease management for the adult to mature adult population. I changed specialties and worked in Wellborn area of NICU and learned to advance to better care for intermediate care babies and eventually Neo Natal Intensive care infants. I was in sales for awhile too. I owned my own business. Scentsy. Which while it was a direct sales company in the home, I learned to use social media to advertise my products and use as a major platform. That eventually lead me to becoming a promoter for other vendors and crafters and I created a fair at a facility in Crown Point, IN. The Dome was where I would hold the fair and would have up to 35 vendors and crafters. Walgreens was recruited as a sponsor. They would give us free candy for kids as I would host trick or treat costume contests with trick or treating for the kids at the Fall Fairs. Comic -Con became involved and the kids really enjoyed that because they showed up in full costume gear to advertise fir their upcoming show. Free tickets were given to 4 vendors and crafters by raffle drawing for games and arcade fun for family of four by the owner of The Dome. Parking was also free. Sometimes we would have a free gift from each booth for the first 100 customers also by raffle drawing as well as sponsored gift baskets from businesses local to the area. It was a lot of work to organize and promote.
