It's been said technology doesn't change the world, people do. How true. Years ago my elderly neighbor called me for help with an email attachment. The look of joy on her face when the image of her niece finally appeared on her computer screen was priceless! Professionally, I've spent a lot of time at the intersection of technology and people. It's my hangout. As VP of Operations with over 15 years of experience in the Gift & Home industry, I had multiple responsibilities. I oversaw all back office operations, including software and hardware systems, database management, sales analytics, email marketing, and customized sales reports. I managed communications among all team members on issues of mutual concern through online meetings, electronic mail and tracking systems - bridging the gap between technology and people. Throughout my career, as technology changed so did my position. I began providing more technical assistance to the sales team. As a result, I have realized the aspects of my work I find most rewarding involve computer support and helping busy professionals get back up and running. I enjoy a challenge. Curiosity motivates me. When a simplified process for file sharing and collaboration was needed, I implemented cloud computing by installing an online storage application. This tool saved the company valuable time and eliminated much frustration. No more files lost in cyberspace. Efficiency improved by 75%. I'm an analytical thinker at heart, with a passion for making complicated details easy for others to understand. There are times when colleagues just want their equipment to work so they can focus on what they do best, that's when I do my best to make it happen for them.
