About Melissa Murphy

I lead a team of kinesiologists and athletic therapists working with the medical community to provide education and training on industry leading orthopaedic devices that allow patients to recover from injury or manage degenerative conditions so that they may lead a Life Without Limitations. I provide tailored solutions and support to physicians and medical clinics across Eastern Canada to ensure that patients are provided with products appropriate for their condition and so that they are supported throughout their journey with their Össur device. Össur is global leader in non-invasive orthopaedics and prosthetics with a focus on education and innovation. We collaborate with the orthopaedic community to bring innovative products to market that align with trends in orthopaedic medicine. We support education at the academic level through orthopaedic fellowships at the University of Toronto, McMaster and Fowler Kennedy and in the local medical community through educational events and global expert consensus meetings. Össur Canada hosts biannual Brace Fitter and Advanced Brace Fitter certification courses to ensure that patients receiving Össur products are being fitted by Össur Certified Brace Fitters. Össur patients are provided industry leading support through our online patient engagement and support program, Embrace. I believe that educated and engaged patients result in improved patient outcomes.
