About Melissa Prowse

As Manager of Planning and Development for Oakland County Parks (OCP) I oversee the Planning, Natural Resource Management and Design/Construction divisions of OCP. Manage a diverse team of professionals including project managers, architects, natural resource professionals, nature education professionals and planners. Previous roles at OCP have included Supervisor of Planning, Business Development Representative and Trail Network Coordinator. I enjoy working with passionate people who care deeply about creating amazing public parks and recreation amenities. I'm a planner by education, but as my career has evolved I've loved being able to shepherd projects from planning to design and construction, and I take great pride in seeing people happily recreating in spaces I've had a hand in creating. I have extensive experience with grant writing and grant management, having secured more than $10M in grants for Oakland County Parks. I enjoy working with our Parks Commission and the Oakland County Board of Commissioners who I present to regularly about projects and programs and to seek approval for major expenditures and new initiatives. In my free time I volunteer as the Chair of the Clawson Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee and attend many high school soccer and volleyball games!
