About Melissa Reed

As is a seasoned lobbyist, government relations strategist and public policy professional I work collaboratively with business leaders, public sector policymakers, nonprofit partners and a multitude of external stakeholders to advance policy and create lasting change. Solid public policymaking is a collaborative process and I prioritize development of the partnerships necessary to accomplish sustainable policy goals. It is how we build community and solve our collective problems. My over 20 years experience in State, Local and Federal work led me to specialize in legislative and policy efforts in the areas of capital investment, transportation, transit, public finance, regulatory matters, jobs and economic development, and public safety and criminal justice reform. As an intergovernmental policy specialist I navigate the complex political, jurisdictional and relationship dynamics that are involved in any policy initiative. I strive to identify creative solutions and develop thoughtful and strategies to solve our biggest public policy challenges. Some of the most creative public policymaking occurs in local governments, our laboratories of democracy. My years of policy work both within and on behalf local governments gives me a unique understanding of their legislative, policy and regulatory processes. I enjoy supporting clients and local government officials and staff in collaborating to solve problems and navigate this complex environment together.
